This meeting, attended by all partners, welcomed guest Steve Pitts, CEP Ambassador, sharing perspectives on the role of volunteers globally, with a focus on Singapore's robust community engagement. He highlighted the Yellow Ribbon Run, held in Singapore, as a prime example of community involvement, with over 11,000 participants and significant contributions from prisoners. Pitts also emphasized the importance of recognizing volunteer contributions and discussed the strong connection between the Singapore Prison Service and the community.
Training and Pilot Programs
Updates on Work Package 3 revealed successful training programs and pilot initiatives. Some of the partners conducted a first pilot witch each 2 or 3 meetings of volunteers participating in the sessions. Feedback has been positive, driving refinements in training materials. For Work Package 4, Significant progress was also reported on modular content creation, with six out of seven modules reviewed and nearly finalized.
Next up
An upcoming short-term training event in Lisbon, Portugal, will explore European perspectives on volunteer engagement in probation. The agenda includes sharing national experiences and insights from the Irish probation service.
