CoPPer Project members, Dr Katharina Swirak, University College Cork, and Tony Swaine, Irish Probation Service met with Joseph Keaney of the Irish Probation Service’s Community Based Organisations Unit, Laura Walsh, CEO Le Chéile Mentoring, and Alan Quinn, Regional Manager with Le Chéile Mentoring online on Friday 10 October to plan an input on Volunteerism in Probation at the upcoming Irish Probation Service’s Community Based Organisation (CBO) Summit.
The CBO Summit will take place on Thursday 23 October in Dublin and will be an opportunity for the various Community Based Organisations working in criminal justice to come together, network and share learnings. The input on volunteerism will provide an opportunity to showcase the work of the CoPPer Project and explore the benefits of volunteering in probation. As well as Le Chéile Mentoring Chéile Mentoring, the input will include Michael Daly, Circles of Support and Accountability (CoSA) Co-ordinator with PACE. We look forward to providing an update following the CBO Summit.
