CoPPer partners at University College Cork are preparing for a Transnational Training event in Lisbon which will take place from the 12th to the 14th of May 2025. Volunteers from different partner countries who have participated in the CoPPer pilot training will participate in the training event. As part of the training event, the UCC team will present their research findings on different approaches in European countries to volunteering in probation. Outlining these differences is important, as they explain how volunteering in probation has come about in different national contexts and how we can understand the variety of approaches taken. The presentation will also explain how these different approaches have inspired an shared European approach to volunteering in probation. While the evidence review focused mainly on the participant partner countries, depicted in the table below, the review also looked further afield to places like Japan, Kenya and Germany.
